• Removal and Replacement
•  Over many years asphalt will require reconstruction. When traditional patching and overlays will not work, removal and replacement is the only effective method to repair an asphalt surface. Century Paving will sawcut, remove the existing asphalt and subgrade material, inspect and re-compact subgrade and install full depth asphalt in multiple lifts.

• Overlay
• When and asphalt surface becomes severly worn but has not reached the stage requiring removal and replacement and asphalt overlay is appropriate. Century Paving will clean the existing asphalt surace of all foreign debris, apply an emulsion tack coat (ss1h), and install an asphalt overlay to the desired thickness. In some cases it is appropriate to install a pavement fabric prior to overlay to help reduce the effects of relfective cracking.

•  Over time the elements. irrigation runoff, and general wear and tear will erode an asphalt surface beyond the repair of traditional asphalt sealers. When this occurs, and installation of a thin layer of asphalt is the proper repair technique before a sealcoat.
